Uh Oh...

The French Foreign Minister, M. Philippe Douste-Blazy, stated today that the Iranian nuclear program is not civilian, but a "clandestine military nuclear program." M. le Ministre also said "The international community has sent a very firm message in telling the Iranians to return to reason and suspend all nuclear activity and the enrichment and conversion of uranium, but they aren't listening to us."
If the French actually notice that there is a problem with Iran, maybe it is really time to pray.

With the French, though, you always have to wonder if they actually would DO anything about it if needed.

And, I really think people need to not forget about China. That government is powerful and terrible - a bad, bad combination. I expect things to explode (no pun intended) there in my lifetime.

You're absolutely right about the French. One of their great generals from World War I (and later head of Vichy France), when asked, summarized his late World War I strategy thus: "Wait for the Americans."

You're also right about China. They are about to make a huge oil deal with Iran. I think it is their strategy to use Iran, and through Iran, Middle Eastern terror networks generally, to tie us down and exhaust us. I also think they are at back of many of our problems with North Korea.

They have so much money ! It's all over Latin America.

I am very worried about what will happen to Taiwan when the Bejing Olympics conclude in Aug. 2008. Right before our elections, when we are paralyzed.
